About Me

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial Engineering at Iowa State University, advised by Dr. Qing Li. I am broadly interested in how computational models represent, predict, and reason about geometry in physical systems. My current research focuses on 3D deformation modeling and predictive compensation for additive manufacturing, with an emphasis on geometric representation, model processing, and fabrication accuracy.

Prior to beginning my Ph.D., I earned a Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. During this time, I worked as a Research Cyberinfrastructure Project Assistant in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), where I developed data management systems supporting university research and operations. I received my Bachelor’s degrees, a B.S. in Statistics and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Outside of research, I enjoy reading and writing. Before graduate school, I worked in journalism on reporting and documentary projects. More recently, I published a short story collection, No Sea in the Elevator, available on Amazon.
